So...some of you may be asking...why does a site on home PC networking have a section devoted to games? True-blue gamers would reply: "what rock have you been under?" Seriously, network-capable games (that is, games that you can play with other people across a network) were once a rarity. Now, game reviewers mark against games if they don't offer good network game play. So the fast answer is: getting the most out of the $50 you plunked down for a game almost demands that you hook up the 2+ computers you have around the house and play against the kids. In this section, we'll feature reviews of network games, hint on how to get good games for free and lots more. Check back often. Game Reviews Star Wars Episode 1 Racer (LucasArts) - This fast-paced racer does a fine job of reflecting the action and excitement of the movie sequence on pod racing. Still, we found the game a bit limited. Check it out here or go directly to the LucasArts web site. 6/25/99 Moto Racer 2 (Electronic Arts) - We awarded this a homePCnetwork Editor's Choice award and rated it an A+. We know racing games are not for everyone, but we've never seen anyone who didn't get excited by the fast pace, excellent graphics and outstanding network play this game offers. Check out our review or go directly to Electronic Art's web site for the game. 4/17/99
