Step-by-step guide to building a $15 networkNetwork Setup - Step Two Still in the Network Control Panel, click on the button below the main configuration window called "File and Printer Sharing." You'll want to make sure that File Sharing is turned on for the Host Computer. Click the check box on the line that says "I want to be able to give others access to my files" That should look like this...
If the host computer also has a printer that you want to use from the DCC guest, then click the second line as well. Click OK in the File and Print Sharing box and the main Network Control Panel. Again, Windows will probably want the computer to restart. One final step, from the main window of the Host computer, click on My Computer. On the left hand list, you'll see the main drives on your computer. Probably a C and maybe a D or E or more drives. If any have files that you'll want to share with the Guest computer, simply click on the drive and then click the right hand mouse button. In the menu that pops up, click Sharing. In the Properties box that appears, make sure to click on the radio button for "Shared As" and make sure the drive name or some other name you want to use appears in the Share Name box. That same name will appear when DCC completes the connection and shows you the Host computer box. See Step Three of the DCC How to.
